Jun 16 2012 · Events
On 12 June 2012 the Fifteenth Joint Session under the Scientific and Technological Cooperation Agreement between China and Finland was organized in Helsinki. Topics on the agenda include: Nano Innovation Center, Arctic Issues, ICT Alliance and Cleantech.
In the ICT Alliance presentation (by Matti Hämäläinen) the suggestions for extending the established cooperation were made based on input from Finland and China:
Consider themes such as InternetOfThings/WebOfThings, mobile internet (e.g. mobile cloud), intelligent services, green ICT, energy efficiency and the creation of open real-world development, testing and experimentation environments (Living Labs).
Developing the ICT Alliance to actively facilitate cooperation between universities, research institutions and industry as well as to link it with work on future challenges such as energy, environment, urbanization, ageing population, and sustainable society.
Both sides agreed to explore possibilities of supporting ICT projects in future. MOST acknowledged the idea of extending the scope of the Alliance from infrastructure to digital services, and also brought up Design & Innovation cooperation, including SFC/ Aalto-Tongji Design Factory. In line with this TIVIT / ICT Alliance organized the “Design Embedded in Life” key event: “Intelligent Home – Wellbeing for Citizen” in November as part of RDW2012 in Shanghai.
